About VTG

The Vertical Technology Group (VTG) provides turnkey and niche ICT solutions to Government and commercial organisations. The brainchild of well-known local business identities Denis Mackenzie, Mick Hannon and Mark Sweet the organisation is founded on more than two decades of successful ICT experience.

In response to market demand VTG was established with an initial focus on providing specialist services for Northern Territory Government clients. Focusing on measurable increases in productivity, our professional team can demonstrate how to optimise technology and specialist technology services to deliver cost savings and/or an increase in service capability.
VTG has proven ability to provide services in remote and regional areas with a fleet of aircraft travelling right across the territory from Darwin, Alice Springs and Nhulunbuy. We understand the Territory and the complexities of wet and dry seasons and challenging terrain. We have established suppliers and robust processes to effectively manage the logistics of servicing remote areas.
We are a true-blue Territorian business. Directors Denis, Mick and Mark are well known and respected members of the Northern Territory business community. They have each been responsible for the development of numerous successful commercial organisations both within the Territory and in other areas of Australia.
Under their guidance the company provides a range of ICT products and services, delivering excellence in customer service at competitive rates to become a service provider of choice.

Born and raised in the Territory, Denis remains passionate about the place he calls home. Through all the amazing success of CSG he steadfastly ensured that the company’s head office remained in Darwin creating some 120 full time jobs for Territorians.

Mick Hannon
Mick Hannon has over 20 years’ involvement in the management and operation of large and complex businesses. With hands-on roles in various areas of the businesses he has complemented his innate skills with practical experience. He is currently Managing Director of Buslink Pty Ltd, Director of Buslink VIVO Pty Ltd and Board member of a number of property development and other ventures.

Not one to sit idle, Mick has consistently demonstrated his natural commercial acumen through a diverse range of successful business ventures in parallel with his day-to-day management commitments. Each of these businesses is characterised by a quality-driven culture with a strong focus on service excellence underpinned by proven robust process which guarantee desired outcomes. His involvement will ensure this same culture and approach will be diligently applied to the VTG organisation.

He is well known in the Northern Territory having lived here all his life. His family has a long history with the Territory and have raised Mick with a passion for his birthplace. Not surprisingly he has many influential contacts in both the commercial and political arenas. His hallmark dedication to quality and service combined with an enviable and proven track record in commercial operations make him a valuable asset to VTG.

Mark Sweet

With an impressive career spanning more than three decades Mark’s experience in ICT and Government in the Northern Territory has positioned him as the ideal choice for the role of Managing Director for VTG. Mark understands something that many technology companies fail to grasp – providing customers with what they actually need rather than what we can easily sell them is the key to customer satisfaction.
This philosophy comes with him to form the service platform which will govern VTG’s approach to the market. Mark also understands the proven link between happy customers and happy staff members. Key to his role is providing opportunities for the people in the organisation to develop and realise their true value. This, in turn, will enable them to deliver service excellence and consistently exceed customer expectations … knowing that happy customers come back.

A Territorian through-and-through Mark is well practiced at working in remote areas and finding innovative ways to deliver service in impossible situations. He shares his knowledge through business and community engagement including serving as a director/board member for the NT Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Australian Information Industry Association.

His dream for the success of VTG will be realised through earning the trust and respect of clients, staff and competitors; building a profitable business which is sought out as a service provider and an employer of choice.
